Marisa De Filippo, PhD, is an Executive Regional Clinical and Medical Director with over 20 years of experience leading large-scale clinical research and medical affairs across Asia, the Middle East, Africa, China, and Australia. In her role as Executive Director and Regional Head of Site Management & Monitoring at AstraZeneca, she drives end-to-end clinical-trial strategy and execution, strengthening site performance, accelerating study delivery, and ensuring the highest standards of quality data adhering to regulatory compliance and Good Clinical Practice. She has built and leads a high-performing cross-regional team and fosters strategic partnerships with CROs, academic institutions, and healthcare professionals. She also plays a pivotal role in capacity building across emerging markets and increasing patient access to clinical trials in global Health Equity. With a strong track record in medical evidence generation, scientific engagement, and clinical trial operations across established and emerging markets, Marisa delivers scalable, high-impact clinical solutions that support regulatory success, enhance patient access, and enable sustainable growth in global R&D.
