Dr. Daisuke Tokita is Director of the Department of International Trials at the Japan Institute for Health Security (JIHS), Tokyo, Japan. He received his MD from Hiroshima University (1995) and his PhD in Medicine (2005), followed by a postdoctoral fellowship in transplant immunology at the Thomas E. Starzl Transplantation Research Institute, University of Pittsburgh (2005–2008). He subsequently held positions in pharmaceutical R&D and academic clinical research leadership at Niigata University and Tokyo Women’s Medical University. At JIHS, he contributed to the establishment of the Infectious Disease Clinical Research NetwOrk With National Repository (iCROWN) before assuming his current role in October 2024. He serves as Secretary General of ARISE (ARO Alliance for Southeast & East Asia), a multiregional clinical research network across Southeast and East Asia aimed at infectious disease preparedness and response.
