Ts. Dr. Muralitharan Paramasua is the Chief Executive of the Medical Device Authority (MDA) under the Ministry of Health Malaysia, a position he has held since February 2023. In this role, he leads the national regulatory agency responsible for ensuring the safety, quality, and performance of medical devices in Malaysia.

With over 20 years of experience in public service, Ts. Dr. Muralitharan has served in key roles across multiple ministries. At the Ministry of Health, he served as an Administrative and Diplomatic Officer, contributing to policy development and regulatory oversight in the healthcare sector. He also served the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, where he was involved in international relations and represented Malaysia in various bilateral and multilateral trade negotiations.

Ts. Dr. Muralitharan holds a PhD in International Trade from the University of Malaya, where he also earned his Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice and Bachelor’s Degree in Biohealth Science. His multidisciplinary expertise bridges science, policy, and international law, positioning him as a strong advocate for regulatory innovation and global collaboration in healthcare.
