Dato’ Dr Norsiah Ali is a Consultant Family Medicine Specialist with advanced training in Addiction Medicine and currently serves as Director of the Family Health Development Division, Ministry of Health Malaysia. She brings over three decades of experience in primary care.
A dedicated advocate for research in clinical practice, she has consistently integrated research into primary care since 1998, leading numerous studies focused on healthcare outcomes and service improvement. She has led 63 investigator-initiated studies and participated in 15 industry-sponsored projects, with findings presented at international conferences and published in peer-reviewed journals.
Her contributions extend to strengthening research capacity in primary care, including collaboration with the Clinical Research Centre to establish research-ready clinics. She is also actively involved in mentoring postgraduate trainees.
In recognition of her contributions, she received the Five Star Doctor Award from WONCA in 2026.
